Instead of a 45 minute Evaluation, UMM Evaluations are 90 minutes, with plenty of time for discussion, explanation and questions.
Likewise, in place of the 10 minute "Med-Check", your follow up visits will be 30 minutes and involve the use of Psychometrics, an objective measure used to monitor progress. Instead of a "barricade" in contacting your Psychiatrist out of the office (unreturned voicemails, receptionist in the day, answering service at night), you will have your doctor's email address, and cellphone number for more direct access in the case of questions or urgencies. Your doctor will have his cellphone and laptop on vacations to be available to you 365 days a year; no receiving callbacks or emails from doctors that do not know you or your case. Labs send blood test results directly to your doctor's laptop and cellphone, which are reviewed promptly. In place of accepting whomever you can get in to see on your Health Insurance Provider Panel, you will be investing in Upper Level credentials and experience. Your psychiatrist will have obtained entrance into a Top 10 U.S. Medical School, trained in a Top 20 Residency Program, and have over 25 years of experience in settings ranging from Outpatient Clinics to State Hospitals, spanning the 4 corners of the country. Your doctor will be pursuing Maintenance of Certification of his Board Certified status (almost all "grandfathered" Board Certified Psychiatrists do not do this). His membership in the American Medical Association and American Psychiatric Association provides him daily e-newsletters of trends in Medicine and Psychiatry. Additionally, your Psychiatrist will have practiced at various Hospitals in the Valley for over a decade, and cared for patients in their most critical moments. He will have training and experience with Medications other Psychiatrists do not use; MAOI's, multiple mood stabilizer combinations, Clozapine, Pramipexole, hi-dose thyroid augmentation, Pregabalin, etc. Genetic Testing, if indicated, can help us fine tune your treatment. If your case is truly "Medication Resistant", we have the option of ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy), and/or IV Ketamine. |
